Former IZ*ONE members Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae-won will return as bandmates in Source Music’s as-yet-unnamed new girl group, the leisure firm has confirmed.
On March 14, a consultant from Source Music shared a press release confirming that the 2 idols had signed “unique contracts with the company” and could be becoming a member of its upcoming girl group. Notably, the label had reportedly signed the two stars as early as last August, although it didn’t affirm the information on the time.
“Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae-won have signed unique contracts with the company on the premise of mutual belief. They are going to make their debut as the primary girl group launched via the cooperation of HYBE and Source Music,” wrote the company, per Soompi.

The company didn’t present particulars on the upcoming group’s title, projected debut date and remaining members.
Each Miyawaki and Kim joined Korean-Japanese challenge girl group IZ*ONE in 2018 after showing on Mnet’s survival actuality sequence Produce 48.
